Broken Heart

Ah the Broken Heart. How apropos for the last day of this NaBloPoMo wouldn't you say? I am sad to see the end of this wonderful month with the Illuminated Moth. I look forward to many years with this fine deck and I hope that you have enjoyed this 30 days of introduction to The Golden Moth Illumination Deck. If you are a Tarot reader, deck collector or just thinkin that you'd like to take your intuition out for a test drive, consider this deck. It is truly spectacular. No little white book needed, just your imagination and a few minutes of quiet time.

Now I know I call this the Broken Heart but it really isn't. If you look at it long enough you'll see that there are many pieces forming the heart in the middle. Lots of interesting shapes make up this heart. I see it as all my loved ones, forming my heart. Just like this deck. Many wonderful pieces that I have found so endearing and special.

I would love to hear how this deck affected you. Did you love it as much as I did? Leave me a comment and let me know.

And so with Broken Heart I end NaBloPoMo month. Thank you Illuminated Moth for your wisdom. Thank you for teaching me something new every day. Thank you for your delicate feel in my hands and the softness of your messages to me. Thank you for blessing others as well.

I want to thank creator Aijung Kim for sharing her dream with me and many others. For allowing me to share pictures of this marvelous deck with all of you. Blessings to you dear, I pray that you will continue your work, sharing your passion with others. Please know that your work has blessed me and many others. A great big cyber hug and kiss to you dear. MWAH!!

29 NaBloPoMo Day XXIX Man Looking into a Circle

Welcome to NaBloPoMo November 2012!

Man Looking into Circle
It's cards like this that make me wish Aijung had titled these beauties. But then again, I've had so much fun naming myself. Man looking into a circle was the best I could come up with. The circle is big. Much bigger than he is. It looks so overwhelming doesn't it? What is that circle? Is it even a circle? Looks more like a giant egg. New beginnings? Does the future seem so incredibly big? Does the task before you leave you at a loss for words? Or action? If you step through the circle, what will happen? What's in there? Perhaps you are facing a great unknown. It's before you and you must step though it you know. Gather up your courage and step in. Yes, it's huge, a little frightening, and you don't really know what is on the other side. What will change for you once you step in? Do you have to leave everything behind? Will you get swallowed up and disappear?

For me this day I see this as a meditation card. My work days are filled with so much unfinished business that I'm a little overwhelmed. Maybe a lot. That big ole circle is all the work I need to still get done. But it is also my gateway. I know that taking the time everyday to meditate and reflect will release some of the stress. Meditation helps me stay on course. It helps figure out the next step. Mostly it keeps me sane.

What circle do you need to walk through today? What's on the other side? Take a peak and see. It may not be as scary as you think.

NaBloPoMo Day XXVIII Worm up a Hill

Welcome to NaBloPoMo November 2012!

For the entire month of November I will focus on The Golden Moth Illumination Deck created by the ever so talented Aijung Kim. This is a wonderfully unique and original oracle deck. It's not a traditional Tarot deck but rather an intuitive oracle deck of simple drawings that will knock your socks off. Worm up a Hill
This is not a worm up a hill. This is a snake. See? He has his little tongue stickin out. But when I first saw this card it looked like a worm so I kinda still see it that way. Anywho, there's this snake see, and he needs to get to the top of the hill but he's got no legs, so now what? Whether he be worm or snake he's faced with the same problem, no legs. I'm always amazed at the versatility of animals. Snakes do not worry about not having legs. They get around just fine thank you. They don't worry about something they do not have, never have had, they just do it. Snakes not only climb hills but they have no trouble at all climbing a tree, something this human with arms and legs cannot do. (maybe will not, whatever!) It's a reminder to me that I don't have to worry about what I have or don't have, what I need or don't need, to get where I want to go. Are you letting a little thing like not having legs keeping you from your goals?

And look at this little guy! He's on top, ON TOP! of the hill! And I know you can't see it but I think he's smiling! VICTORY! Today is a climb to the top of the hill day. My mountain? Is a stack of aging but critically important stuff to do. Stuff that should have been done days ago. Stuff that could not be done days ago due to the holidays. Instead of climbing to the top of this retched mountain I need to get to the bottom of it. Check off all the 911 priority stuff and set everything else in motion. My goal? To get rid of the mountain. To see the top of my desk. To clear off all the items screaming for my attention. To take care of the needs and concerns of my clients. No, it wont all get done today, maybe not even tomorrow, but I don't worry. With or without legs I can conquer this mountain!!!

What mountain do you need to tackle today?

NaBloPoMo Day XXVII Bridging Choices

Welcome to NaBloPoMo November 2012!

Bridging Choices
Oh I just love this card! Don't you? I called this card '2 faced man under bridge'. I know! I need to come up with snappy names that are just a wee bit shorter, dontcha think? So now I call this 'Bridging Choices'. This poor guy is standing under a bridge, looking both ways. Sort of a 'Which way do I go George, which way do I go?' kind of thing going on. Sometimes we have many choices to make and not too sure which one to choose. Ever feel that way? This choice leads here, sure, but it also goes there. Both have a number of knowns and unknowns to consider. Pulling another card could give you better answers and a clearer direction. But for now, this guy is on his own.

Oh this day is very much this kind of day. Many choices to make. Priorities, it's all about priorities for me. I have many problems to solve this week. I just need to get on that bridge and start moving. I shall be going in both directions. I have to. It's good though. People are looking to me to help them through their difficulties. I need to set my worker bees in motion. Sooth my clients angst and make things as right as I possibly can. Meditation for today is all about focus, priorities and calming fiery emotions. Maybe 2 faced man needs to have a nice cuppa tea and a cookie or two. I know I do!

Tea Kettle
Water's done!! Are you ready for tea?
This card can just mean so many things. Sure it could mean things are coming to a boil in your life. Ready to explode? But not for me. I love a singing tea kettle! I grew up in a tea drinking family and the sound of the shrill whistle meant we could all have a cuppa with maybe a cookie or two. Today is Monday soooo, it's really more of a boiling water kind of day. Today is the first day back to work after 4 days off. Every thing on my desk has been a perkin away, awaiting my attention. Everything wants to be done right now!

So the first thing I'm gonna do when I hit the office is set the kettle on. Nuthin better than a nice cup of tea to start a busy day. Right? You wanna cookie too?

Ants

Tomorrow will be my first day back to work and I will be busy busy busy, oh my goodness, busy. With a number of days off last week I'll have to manage 2 weeks worth of work this week. This has me annoyed, antsy. Ants are powerhouses of activity. They never burden themselves with a load they can't carry. They never seem to tire, they never get bored, and most surprising, they don't grumble! (well maybe they DO grumble, we just can't hear them!) Ant reminds me to get my spit together and get going. He says, I'm not alone, I have a community to assist me. A community of Angels and Guides, family and blessed friends. I don't have to do it all at once, I don't have to do it all myself, I just need to take a step in the right direction to achieve my goal and get going. I don't have to run either! I can be busy, and get a lot done without wearing myself out. I need patience. I need to not kick myself when things get crazy. I need discipline. The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. Then the next and the next. Stay organized! I am organized, I spend hours organizing anything and everything. Don't deviate from the plan, stay on course and do the next thing. I can do this! How hard can it be?

Thank you ant. You have great wisdom. I am humbled.

Peace
Priscilla

Where Manifestation Begins
This card began as Child blowing plant and stars into the clouds. Yeah, I know. I've been able to read this card in many ways so giving it a name has been difficult. The longer I thought about this card the more it appeared to me as a manifestation card. You see I have this seed idea in my head. It bounces around in there for awhile and then I have to initiate the changes needed in order for my idea to manifest. I blow it out into the heavens to grow in the spiritual realm. To clear up some of the cloudiness and to illuminate the next step. Sometimes my ideas reproduce to the point where I am overwhelmed with all the choices. Yet they are still in their seed casings unable to push through the surface of my thick soil. This gal is relaxed, maybe in a meditative state. This is a great place to start. Allowing your higher self, guides and angels to help you sort through the muck. But then you must sprout those little darlins and send them out into the cosmos. This is where you really begin to flesh out those ideas, create a goal and allow spirit to help you along the way.

What are you manifesting today? How do you go about it?

November 23, 2012
Star Man (or Woman)

HAPPY BLACK FRIDAY TO YOU!!
That just doesn't sound right no matter how you say it. I've only done one, count em, ONE! black Friday. It was such a horrid experience that I will NEVER EVER do it again! EVER! No amount of money saved makes up for the horror of it all. I stay home. This is the day that I unpack Christmas. I drag out the dusty tree and boxes and boxes and boxes of Christmas ephemera. All while sipping on some hot cocoa and humming to Christmas carols playing softly in the background. Doesn't that sound better? Ok, let me put it this way. You can freeze your butt off, in line, with a bazillion strangers or.....you can scoot around in your jams and slippers, picking at leftovers and making your home all sparkly and pretty for the holidays. It's a no brainer.

But I digress, it's about the cards, the cards remember? And the special card for this special day is...STAR MAN!! This is a very meaningful card for me. At first I called it The Man that Comes From the Moon. But now I think Star Man is better. Shorter at least. It's a card that speaks to me of other worldly knowledge. A message from beyond. A message that comes from the eithers. The sky is filled with an illuminating full moon and bright stars. His head is in the water with more stars. There is illumination. A light in the darkness. Illuminating your thoughts. Be looking for a message, an aha moment where it all lights up and suddenly makes sense.

This day I am relaxing. The hustle of Thanksgiving is over. There are enough leftovers for the family to nibble at as I begin my next home project. CHRISTMAS!! Today the tree will come up. It needs to be dusted, fluffed and then comes the illuminating of the tree. A prelit tree must be checked, aligned and plugged in. Easier said than done, I'm just saying. The tree will stay like this for several days. Bright, shinny, beautifully lit but unadorned of decorations. There is much to do before the delicate ornies will make their way to the tree. The rest of the house is cleaned, dusted and decorated before the tree is decorated. Granddaughter Magoo will annoy me until I finally break down and let her unpack the ornaments and begin the decorations herself. And when she's done, I’ll put the angel on top for her. From this day on, it's all about Christmas. Shiny bright starry season. Ah, a perfect card after all.

Shinny sparkling peaceful wishes to you

NaBloPoMo Day XXII Woman With Mask

Today is Thanksgiving! It's the most wonderful time of the year for me. I love nothing more than planning a grand meal and having family over. This year my beloved's birthday is also on this day. Two special occasions wonderfully wrapped with love and family.

But what about the Woman and the Mask? Ah yes, the Woman and the Mask. Close family members that I’ve referred to as The Gnomes have stepped up their game this year. They are a family of five that just drive me banana's. I wont go in to all the gory details, I could write a book, I may write a book, there are just so many difficulties. I desperately wanted to love them and to take them into my heart and make them my very own. But it is not to be. Again, I’ll spare you the Springer like details. They challenge my spirituality. And that is where the Woman and the Mask comes in. This lovely lady is wearing a mask which tells me she is showing a face carefully constructed. No matter how I feel or how ugly the Gnomes can be I need to keep my holiday face on. My goal is to bring joy into the lives of my loved ones. It means putting aside my wants and desires in order to support those I love (and those I want to love).

But what I find interesting is the wheat behind the mask. Wheat is a symbol of prosperity, resurrection, and fertility. Wheat is nourishment, bread. This day we will be breaking bread. Sharing a special meal together. Having all the grandkids together, laughing and playing. Pressing a cookie into their tiny hands and shooing them out of the kitchen. Catching up on all the news. Smooching the heads of those we don't see often. And after dinner? Well once the table is cleared out comes Skip-bo and Uno! Great games for all ages. A great way to connect and enjoy the company of those I love. I can focus on doing the things that give me joy and peace. I'll not wonder or worry about the behavior of the Gnomes. It will be challenging. Just put on a happy face!

Peace with mashed potatoes and gravy

Happy Home
I think every deck comes with a Happy Home card of some sort. This card happens to fall on a very special day. It' is my parents 53 anniversary! My parents, now in their 70's are both still alive and kicking. This day I want to celebrate the life they have given me and the life they have together. While not perfect they provided a safe and loving home for me and my sibling. We enjoyed many vacations together. ROAD TRIP! Has always been a mantra of my father who loves nothing better than to hop in the car and drive for a few hours just to 'see' something. We all loved car trips. Mother would sleep mostly, I swear she can snore before the car leaves the driveway. My brother would enjoy a leisurely nap too. But me, no, I was in charge of the map. My parents will still hop in the car and take off. GPS has replaced the little freckled mapper my father counted on for many years. It is truly a blessing to have family. To have a wonderful loving family. Thanks dad and mum. You're still the rock in my life and I love you.

Happy Anniversary!

Smooches hugs kisses

Planting Seeds
I love getting my hands dirty so this card makes me a little giddy. I can spend hours, days even, perusing seed catalogs and planning where the next something will be planted. Seeds are hope. Hope of a new life. A promise of a fragrant garden or yummy summer veggies. Seeds can be for anything and everything. They are as unique as a fingerprint, all different. A great multitude of size, shape and color. All with their own germination needs. The seeds of new beginnings. Seeds of new growth. Seeds for beauty and seeds for nourishment.

Tomorrow is an anniversary, the next day a combined birthday and Thanksgiving. In the next few days our home will be a hub of activity and celebration. This reminds me to be busy planting seeds of love, acceptance, and encouragement. It will be a little difficult. I'll need to get my hands dirty. But in the long run, I'll be planting new life for the future.

What do these seeds represent in your life today?

NaBloPoMo Day XIX Hair and Rocks

Welcome to NaBloPoMo November 2012!

Hair and Rocks
When I first saw this I thought hair and rocks. That can't be right! Wind and rocks? Waves and rocks? Those options didn't help me either. I pondered this card for several days, kinda agonizing over it, consumed even. Then I thought of this story I'd read years ago. I think it comes from an early Steven King book and I can't remember the name of the book. There is a story in there that talks about a farmer in the eastern states. Every year they needed to clear the field in order to begin their planting. Every year they needed to clear the rocks from the field. No matter how many rocks they cleared from the field it seems there was that many or more the following year to clear. Where did they all come from?

So I began to think of this card in that way. You clear out the obstacles, big ones, little ones. You get your field plowed, planted, harvested and put to bed. The next year you start all over again. Clearing away the rocks you left behind from last year and a great many new ones this year. It seems as if many of my projects are littered with obstacles. Little annoyances, big blockages, tiny bits of grit that will gum up your works in a most profound way. Where do they come from? Maybe they are nuisances you can avoid by better planning. Maybe they are the cost of doing business. Maybe they are loved ones that are still struggling to grow up and make better decisions and you've been clearing their rocks. You'll never clear all the obstacles because eventually the wind (or whatever!) will just bring more in.

I don't think this is a negative card. I think this is a natural card. Because life isn't perfect. It doesn't always go according to plan. Sometimes you need to get out there, use your sweat equity and clear the debris. Sometimes you need to go around them or maybe over them!! Maybe you need a little assistance! You know, many hands lightens the load. There is no shame in getting help when you need it.

What rocks have blown into your life? Do you need a little help?

Peace
Priscilla

Bell

You may not believe this but you are controlled by bells! No it's true! The ringing of bells get's your attention right away and lets you know you have some action to take. Take for instance, your door bell. It signifies the arrival of a expected guest, or not. As in 'who the heck could that be?' Either way you are compelled down the hall to open the door. Phone ringing? Need I say more?

Bells signify beginnings and endings, bells are rung at weddings and funerals. We are all familiar with multiple types of warning bells, a truck backing up, a train coming, a smoke alarm going off or that dreaded noise made by opening the emergency door.

Bell this day reminds me to celebrate. Today we're ringing in by celebrating a birthday. There will be cake, hot fudge mega sundaes, lots of giggles and laughs. It is good to be surrounded by such a loving family.

What bell do you need to take notice of today? A warning? A celebration? Or are you just annoyed by all the noise? Me too!

Naked Truly
My first name for this little lovely was 'Naked Woman Hanging Clothes' but that just didn't roll off the tongue for me. My feeling for this card is very profound. This woman is truly naked. The face, clothes and even HAIR is completely different. I think that many working women are just this way. You know the woman. You work with her and she is professional and detailed in her appearance. Then you catch her at the market in yoga pants and no make-up and you barely recognize her. Do you know someone like that? Are you that woman (could be man, I don't judge) I am very much that way. I have a professional face and my real life. My professional life is office attire and make-up. At home I am au naturel. No make-up, jeans, a tank top and flippies. Truth be told I've made milk runs in my jams and slippers. I always keep my sunglasses on, I do have some shame.

All of us, everyone in fact, has multiple sides to them. I have my day job, my spiritual work, my creative projects, and my family. I work pretty differently in each modality. In this day I am mom. A birthday tomorrow followed by an anniversary, another birthday and Thanksgiving. I'll be rushing around gathering cakes and balloons, picking special cards for those I love, wrapping gifts!, and preparing a special meal for 25 of my favorite (and not so favorite) peeps. Glorious! GLORIOUS I tell you. And if you happen to live in my little town, you're most likely to catch me clean faced with a ponytail. MWAH!

NaBloPo Day VI 1/2 Man

Welcome to NaBloPoMo November 2012!

The ½ Man
I call this guy the ½ man. It's just his head and it is cleanly divided in half. What could THIS possibly mean? Certainly a man (but could be a woman, since I are one) is cleanly battling 2 things at once. One side appears to be awake and the other, asleep. While Mr. Day is bombarded with all manor of chaos, Mr. Night is not faring well either. Even in his dreams there is darkness and confusion. There is no rest for this weary man. This does not make this a negative card. In a spread I would combine surrounding cards with their placement to come up with a plan of action. Today I'll just take this as a single card read. Yes there is a great many things going on. Some stressful, some unnecessarily dramatic and all this going on while busily planning a happy holiday meal for 25 people. (and working 1 full time job and 1 part time job) What's the answer? As a single card, there is no answer. It's awareness that I'm looking for here. My waking days are dramatic and busy. I'm stressed. I'm grouchy. And I'm not enjoying the holidays the way I'd planned. In fact, I'm downright dreading my favorite holiday. I confided to my BFF that I was going to cancel Thanksgiving this year. She just smiled and said, 'No you wont, you're going to show them how it's done!' That is all I needed to hear. That is why we pick the BFF's that we do. Because we can grouch at them and they will put us back on track.

This card is also crying out for meditation. I can get a renewed sense of calmness if I choose to meditate more frequently during this energetic time. The energy generated needs to be directed, controlled, managed. Easier said than done. I'll be busy multitasking EVERYTHING and now I need to juggle energy? Yes! Absolutely yes! And it feels very much like juggling. The energy is stirred, colored, heated and hits me at warp speed. I don't have to keep it. If I get my meditation on I can practice staying calm and returning only positive energy. Calming the circumstances and putting frantic family more at ease.

A big task this card has.

What thought, event or circumstance has you cut in half?

Peace

Boy Listening to the Wind

Listening carefully. It seems that there's message coming. Calmly listening. Really paying attention. What is being said? Where is it coming from? Who is saying it? Is there a message for you? For me? A message of peace? Stay calm P, the holidays are upon us, there is much to do and it's stressful. This year there is much drama going on for the holidays. The economy may be recovering but lives are still in upheaval. This is a very vocal reminder to up my meditation. (not medication) By seeking peace and setting aside time for quietness I can get through Thanksgiving with my mind intact. This would be a great card for a message coming in. Is there something you need to pay attention to? Perhaps you are searching for an answer. I think you'll be getting one soon.

NaBloPoMo Day XIV Man in a Bubble

Welcome to NaBloPoMo November 2012!

For the entire month of November I will focus on The Golden Moth Illumination Deck created by the ever so talented Aijung Kim. This is a wonderfully unique and original oracle deck. It's not a traditional Tarot deck but rather an intuitive oracle deck of simple drawings that will knock your socks off. The deck consists of 75 cards, 7 of which are blank and you are encouraged to draw your own cards.

Man in a Bubble
I really like this card but I find it a hard card to describe. There's a man. I think it's a man, he has no hair sooo... It can't be a baby, the posture is all wrong. And he's sitting in a...a...bubble? Looks more like a hairband belonging to my granddaughter. I call it Man in a Bubble, close enough? And this card has been very clear to me with more than one meaning.

Man imprisoned. This came up just that way. I read for a problem where one man was already in jail. That was interesting as I wasn't reading for the jailed man but since he is such an important part of this problem he showed up in the spread. So I could read this as someone in jail, someone being controlled or under the influence of someone else. A very bad relationship? Or perhaps it's an addiction that is keeping this person immobile. Maybe an illness or injury that is keeping this person hospitalized. Is depression an issue here? On a lighter note what about meditation? Does your querent need to pull him/herself out of her drama and meditate more? What about a much needed vacation? Does he/she need to take some time out and recharge those spiritual batteries?

How would you read this card?

Lightning Egg
This is a card that speaks loudly, don't you think? Lightning that destroys the egg. Could be the world, maybe it's you! (or me, eeek!) This reminds me heavily of the Tower card. Destruction everywhere and nothing is left whole. Ah, you say, this must be a negative card, how else could you read this? I'm so glad you asked! I pulled this in a spread and it meant 'an idea is coming in that is going to light up the project and turn things around'. Much like that AHA moment, it comes in with a bang and all of a sudden, YOU GET IT!! These lightning bolts don't look scary to me at all. In fact they look a little like people, dancing on top of the cracked egg. WHOOHOOO! They are saying. They finally cracked that tough nut and now they get to eat the prize!

Or it could just be the Tower card and everything is going to fall apart today. Humpf!

NaBloPoMo Day XII Wrapped around your Finger

Wrapped Around Your Finger
I'll be wrapped around your finger.. Can't you just hear Sting crooning now? Not a bad earworm for the day.

Does someone in your life have YOU wrapped around their finger? For me, it's my dog. I know what you're thinking. I love my boys with all that is within me and there is nothing (well almost nothing) that I wouldn't do for them. But my little furry baby, well, she has me doing things that I never would do for my kids. And what does that mean? Well it's not a totally good thing. It means that you would do anything reasonable or unreasonable for that person. It could mean you put aside your own needs and desires for the whim of someone you love very much.

It goes the other way too! What little lovely do you have wrapped around your finger? It may be hard to admit this but there may be someone in your life that would do anything for you. Do you have someone in your life that would drop everything they're doing to do your bidding? Do you take advantage of that? Keep in mind, there's much love here. The bond that makes this possible is very strong. It's just a little out of balance. Maybe a lot out of balance. It may be time to take a look at a relationship in your life that isn't completely healthy.

This card also talks to me about remembering. 'Tie a string around your finger so you wont forget.' I was a forgetful and distracted child (and now adult) And my father would tell me to tie a string around my finger so I wouldn't forget. Ever curious I asked him why we did that. He told me that I was tying the task to my finger so it wont get away. It worked! It really did! And I've always thought there was magic in that little string.

What could it be today? Is my little pooper going to make me jump though a hoop? Is there something I'm forgetting today?

I sure hope I remember before it's too late!

NaBloPoMo Day XI Summer Garden

Summer Garden in Full Fruit

I love to see this card. It reminds me of my summer garden. Grab my harvesting basket and garden snips and you wont see me for a few hours. These kind of days are filled with taking care of my green friends. Watering, fertilizing, snipping dead leaves and branches, gathering herbs and veggies for supper. The trees are heavy with fruit and I'm already planning the pies and cobblers I'll be baking and the jam to be making. It's a wonderfully beautiful and fragrant place to be.

Today, my garden does not look like this. It is all put to bed for the winter, as mild as they are here, but the garden still needs a rest. There is always a good deal of work that needs to be done and If I don't prepare, then my garden wont be ready for spring planting and will never flourish this summer.

Perhaps this day is the result of much planning, planting and care. Is your garden flourishing right now? So close to the holidays I see my home and family as my garden. Those I love and care for all year are getting ready for family gatherings. I look forward to seeing all my beloved family. Smooching the heads of little people and sneaking them a cooky or two from my secret stash. Filling their stockings with goodies and watching them tear into the packages I spent so much time wrapping. Catching up on all the family gossip and then settling down for a raging game of Skip-bo or Uno.

What is your garden? Is it family at this time of year? Is it a job that is taking off and producing better than you expected? Take a little time today to go out into your garden (whatever that may be) and enjoy it. Smell it. Water it. Pick the fruit. Or just enjoy the beauty of it.

Gathering seeds, Casting seeds
I'm not sure what this is really. Kind of reminds me of casting runes. I gather them up with my two hands, yes, all of them. And then drop them onto my cloth for reading. Ok so maybe you don't cast your runes or even read runes, so then it looks like gathering seeds or spreading (casting) seeds. What 'seeds' are you gathering? What seeds are you casting? What ideas are you gathering? Something in its infancy? Is casting the best method for the seeds you have? If you are just throwing out your precious seeds ideas are they landing on fertile soil? Perhaps you should take just a few and plant them where they can do the most good. Yes, that means more work and effort on your part but you want results, right?

What fabulous idea are you casting out there? What are you gathering up?

Feather Pen and Seedlings
Wonderful card! So many symbols, so little time. Here we have seedlings in various stages of maturity. Teeny tiny sproutlings all the way up to flowering plants. And a vintage feather pen that I can imagine in the hands of Ben Franklin (perhaps writing as Silence Dogood) A magical pen, pulling ideas from the ethers and creating a new and exciting project.

This card speaks to me of creative endeavors. Writing a book? This card is telling you it's a go! Up to your eyeballs in an artistic project? Keep going! It looks like a positive outcome. Certainly this is a nice card to see if you're about to present a project to the boss. Got a hot new idea? This is a card that encourages you to get started and keep going.

What new idea is perking in you today?

NaBloPoMo Day VIII Artichoke Flower

Artichoke flower.
At first glance it looked to be an artichoke with a flower coming out of it. A closer look reveals flames and a flower coming out of it. The flame is contained in a sort of ball formation and a beautiful flower miraculously comes up out of the middle of the flame ball. Hmmm. Very often fiery situations produce beautiful results. Sometimes it seems as if you'll be consumed by the flames only to find it lead to something wonderful. A painful divorce opens the way to meeting your soul mate. You get fired from the job you love only to find a position that you love better and at twice the pay! You find after a devastating event you find that what was burned up really set you free to grow and thrive in a way you would not have before.

What is burning up in your life today? Do you really need it? Look for the joyful event that may come of this burning time.

NaBloPoMo the first week in review

NaBloPoMo The Golden Moth Illumination Deck

This is a recap first  7 days of NaBloPoMo.  Each day I pulled one card from the Illuminated Moth deck so see what it would say for that day.  I thought I would do a weekly recap to see how my days really did reflect what the cards had to say.  The cards this week were Locked Gate, Tree in Spring, Worm and Weed, Balanced Scales, Sitting in a Cloud, Man vs Mountain and Cycle of Life.  Here's how my week shaped up and how the cards affected them.

This month started with a locked gate. While I have many things planned for this month, birthdays (x3), an anniversary, and of course the big T Day. Then, the weekend after Thanksgiving, we set up the tree! You know, THE TREE! Even with all the plans the month will hold many unexpected things. Things I don't know about yet. Things that will change the plans, bad things, good things, all manor of things. While we can take a peek into the future we still can't see everything. And that's good! There needs to be some surprises.
While this week was relatively problem free there is a couple of difficult work things that were brewing. Tree in Spring was the beginning of a problem that needed to be addressed and began to grow up out of dormancy and demanded to be seen/heard and dealt with. Worm and weed addressed how we've managed this problem. Sort of under the surface. We planned and prepared as best we could but all that came of all that planning was a huge gigantic super weed. Really it was just an obnoxious thing and wouldn't come of much, but it was ugly and in our face, and we saw it as bigger than it really was. Balanced scales told us that. Stay balanced, don't let the ugly thing take over the good. Make sure that he doesn't demand more attention than he really needs. Don't let him tip the scales so that everyone else suffers.
Sitting in a Cloud offered up another problem. A problem that got stuck in my head and I could think of nothing else. The problem seemed very Man vs Mountain. I surly felt (still feel) that the problem is insurmountable. How will I ever get to the bottom (or top) of this problem? How will I ever work it so that I can have some security in this situation? Again the balanced scale came into play. Try to stay balanced. Don't let the problem be more than it is. Don't let it steal my peace. While working the problem in meditation I understood the Cycle of Life. This is a problem, yes, it needs to be addressed, yes, it needs to be worked and it will take time. It is important to uplift everyone here so that we all can progress and grow. And I need to remember that it is all apart of the cycle of life. In our life we will have mountains to climb, ditches to dig, plants to plant, and joy to harvest.

Did these cards speak to you this week? What did they say?

NaBloPoMo Day VII Cycle of Life

Welcome to NaBloPoMo November 2012!

Cycle of Life

I'm a rabid gardener so I'm thrilled that Aijung uses so many gardening ideas in her deck. The cycle of life can easily be seen in your own back yard. Seasons, they are a changing.

It's fall here now. The leaves have begun their transformation, changing colors and dropping off. Tumbleweeds have dried nicely and autumn breezes are whisking them off to their next destination. My garden has been cleared of the dead and dying and remaining plants trimmed. Fragrant herbs are harvested and hung to dry. Seeds gathered for the promise of spring. It's a little naked out there now, all that remains are the roses. The roses took a beating in the extreme heat of this summer, they'll be trimmed to the ground next month before Christmas. Then the garden will look truly desolate.

This card speaks of timing to me. A special kind of timing. A slow earthy kind of timing. You plant a seed, a seedling comes, then the beautiful fruit or flower, then it must die and spread see to start all over again. What you do today, what you start today, needs time to sprout, grow and mature. You'll not see evidence over night but in a few days you'll see the tiniest bit of green, letting you know it's alive and
growing. Keep watering your garden and pay attention. For timing this could mean that it's going to be a year before your situation improves, changes.

What stage is your project in? What seeds are you planting? What seedlings are you protecting, fertilizing, nurturing? What fruit are you harvesting? What has completed it's cycle?

Great blessings!

Peace,
Priscilla

Man vs Mountains

So many mountains so little time. You're prepared of course, you have your backpack. You're prepared for your adventure. Do you realize the number of obstacles in your life? You can't see mountain behind this mountain, or the mountain behind that one and so on. Is there a way to stay grounded and go around them? Climbing up and down will just get you to the next mountain. And the next. And to make matters worse, it looks like rain. You may feel prepared for the climb but doubtfully you could pack enough to get through this terrain. What mountainous obstacle are you facing today? Are you prepared for the tasks? What do you need to do to navigate the terrain? Are you prepared for possible rain?

This is one of those days that is already filled with numerous mountains to climb.  I've climbed them all before.  This time every year I'm faced with more mountains than I can climb in the time allotted.  I organize and prepare well but it's exhausting.  Each victory ends with another challenge, another task.  I feel overwhelmed, tired and just plain ready to chuck it all.  It truly takes the joy out of this blessed season that should be filled with joy, family, and a great deal of gratitude.

What are your mountains today?  Are you prepared?  Are you prepared enough?  Could you EVEN be prepared enough?  Maybe you need to decide which mountains you will tackle and which ones you'll save for another day (or never?) Maybe you need to create a flat open meadow where you can enjoy the fresh air, relax and look for cloud elephants.

How are you handling your mountains? Leave me a comment!

NaBloPoMo Day V Man in the Clouds

Sitting on a cloud
This is an interesting card which I've had the pleasure of reading a couple of different ways. At first it came up as a negative card. A man sitting in a cloud, way above the earth. Head in the clouds man is not living in the real world. While it is good to dream big you need to be realistic as well. Sitting on a cloud gives you a great big picture perspective but it's hard to see the details from this vantage point.  We all know the devil is in the details.  Make sure you don't overlook the little things as they have a way of knocking the big picture off track.

Spiritually this card reminds me of meditation.  I enjoy my meditation time.  Daily meditation I feel is essential for a healthy spiritual life.  It's also crucial for maintaining balance in all your relationships.  Sometimes I get so caught up in everyone's drama that I need to 'get my head in the clouds' just to stay sane.  I'm more of a details kind of gal.  Sometimes I get so caught up in all the details that I forget to look at the big picture.  The details are important, yes, but it's easy to follow a trail in the wrong direction if you haven't viewed the whole course first.

This card could also indicate depression.  Maybe a sadness has come in your life and now all you can see is this cloud.  A greyness that keeps you from seeing both the details or the big picture.  Not seeing anything at all can keep you from moving forward.  It's easy to see that the cloud keeps you immobile.  Maybe you fear  falling off the planet entirely.  Maybe your energy is sapped.  What can you do to get grounded again?  What do you need to bring into your life to help you clear the mists from your vision?

Today I'm already overwhelmed with the big picture as I've already outlined this months tasks.  Now it's time to work on the details.  This too reminds me to maintain my meditation schedule.  I need to balance the big picture with the details and my goal for meditation is to keep me on task and focused. Maybe I need some new perspective.

What does Man in the Clouds say to you?  Missing the big picture? Do you need a new perspective? Are you overlooking the details?  Is your lofty goals or fantasy world keeping you from making good decisions?  Or perhaps you're a little down, sad.  What can you do to lift your spirits?  How will you clear the mists so you can see more clearly?  eeek!  It's a Monday already!

This is a great card! Read this as you would the Justice card in the Tarot. Or it could be read as balance.  Balance in your physical life, balance in your spiritual life.  Perhaps this is in a position to tell you that you need balance.  What is upsetting your balance?  This card has been coming up as the legal system in some of my readings but today, I don't have anything legal going on. Perhaps today will be a day to focus on keeping my life balanced. I've got a great many things on my plate for today and the rest of the month.  The holidays are approaching at warp speed.  Thanksgiving is early this year and my beloved's birthday happens to fall on Thanksgiving.  Today I'm going to schedule all the things I need to get done this month.  I need to prepare for the Christmas holidays coming up.  This time of year is so hectic that I often forget to relax and have fun.  Organizing my tasks will help keep me stay balanced.

How do you stay balanced during the holidays?  Leave me a comment.  I'd love to hear from you.

Have a blessed day!
